Changes In International Student Enrollment Due To Travel Restrictions

Introduction :

COVID-19, has changed a lot of things in our life, like how students from different countries could study in aboard. This blog registers what are the problems they faced and what might happen next.

Problems Faced By Education Institutions :

COVID-19 rules stopped students from going to study in other countries. Many countries like USA,UK,Canada and Germany saw fewer international students who came to study and they spent less money in tution fee. The schools had to quickly switch to online classes, which was not easy. They had to figure out how to make use of technology, they should teach well and they should also ensure that the students are learning well and satisfied with their work. It was a complex and hard work.

Problems Faced By Students :

COVID-19 rules stopped students from going to study in abroad. Some of the students got stuck in their countries and couldn't go back to their schools which are in abroad. And some of them were in a situation where they can't even meet their parents and loved ones because they were stuck in abroad. This made it tough to maintain their student visas. This made the students depressed. The online classes also made education tricky for students because of different time zones and not having all the study materials required.

What Might Happen Next :

Students might look for schools and institutions which offers good online classes and more flexible ways to enroll them.
This might affect the system how institutions get and keep their  international students. The local businesses will also suffer. When fewer international students come to study, they will spend less money in local businesses such as handicrafts, handmades, etc. They won't spend money like before COVID. This will affect the local economy of the place.

Conclusion :

As the students and schools are learning new ways to learn and provide education respectively, I hope that the education systems will adapt and run smoothly while overcoming the sideffects of the COVID-19 pandemic. This pandemic period made us realize that, adaptation is a necessary key to live in this current evolving society.
